Director Meigs has been a dedicated Board member since 2010. She is a Berkeley native, and moved to Marin County in 1983. She has been a nurse since 1979. Her work has been in a local community hospital for over 35 years and an adjunct professor in nursing in various Bay Area Universities. Director Meigs has a Masters in Community Health and degrees from Napa College, Holy Names University and Dominican University. Director Meigs has been extensively involved in the Town of Fairfax, as past Chair of the Fairfax Planning Commission, past Fairfax General Plan advisory Committee, founder of the Fairfax Open Space Committee, and the Fairfax Tree Committee. Director Meigs is a environmentalist, a community activist, and mentors to help others run for political office. She is currently on the Fairfax Corona Virus Task Force and the Firewise Steering Committee. She enjoys doing still life drawings. She enjoys adventure sports such as sailing, in Croatia, the Greek Islands, Sicilian coastline, and French Polynesia. She also enjoys white water rafting, skiing, and back packing. Her love to travel includes trips to Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti , Europe, Croatia, India, Bali, Sri Lanka, Nepal, South Africa, Canada and Mexico. Lastly, and more importantly, she is a proud mother of her two grown children and two grandchildren.
