Laurel Grove Sewer Rehabilitation Project (Kentfield)

Laurel Grove Sewer Rehabilitation Project (Kentfield)

Project Summary

The RVSD collection system relies on pump stations and associated force mains to transport wastewater to the Central Marin Sanitation Agency (CMSA) treatment plant.

The Laurel Grove Sewer Rehabilitation Project will increase hydraulic capacity, reduce water infiltration and inflow, and provide needed structural rehabilitation in Laurel Grove Avenue between Makin Grade and Sir Francis Drake Blvd. The project will replace 4,370 feet of pipe and address sewer overflow and sagging pipe issues on Hanken Drive and Quisisana Drive.

Night work on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. (in the easterly Laurel Grove Ave. intersection) is anticipated to begin Monday, July 6 and will take approximately three weeks to complete.

Night work hours are Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The schedule is subject to revision to coordinate with the construction of the Marin County Upgrade the Drake Project.

All other work is currently planned Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The entire project is anticipated to be complete by the end of October 2020. Pavement restoration will meet County standards.

These upgrades to old or outdated system infrastructure will enhance local wastewater system reliability and efficiency.

All RVSD projects and work activities being conducted adhere to the District’s COVID-19 Exposure Control Plan to prepare for and, mitigate against the risk of COVID-19 exposure to the District’s office staff and field workers.

These upgrades to old or outdated system infrastructure will enhance local wastewater system reliability and efficiency.
