Larkspur Pump Stations 14, 24 & 25 Improvements Project
Project Schedule: Spring - Summer 2023
Contractor: Pacific Infrastructure Corporation
Project Update - August 16, 2023
Staff worked with Pacific Infrastructure and Fowler Electric, connecting and testing newly installed generators and automatic transfer switches at Pump Stations 14, 24 & 25. The generators are in operation and are working as designed. This is one of the last items in the project’s scope of work. The project replaced outdated infrastructure to enhance reliability, efficiency and improve performance during wet weather and power outages. The District celebrated the completion of this project at the July 19 Ribbon Cutting Event at PS 14. Check this page regularly for project updates as they become available.
Project Summary
The RVSD collection system relies on pump stations and associated force mains to transport wastewater to the Central Marin Sanitation Agency (CMSA) treatment plant.
The Larkspur Pump Station 14 Improvements included replacing the generator for standby power, replacing a VFD, replacing pump/level controls with a new PLC-based control system, reviewing the odor control system for additional capacity, roof repair, and replacement of an internal concrete platform for safety.
A Pump Station 14 Ribbon Cutting ceremony is planned for Wednesday, July 19 at 11:30 a.m. The event is taking place at 200 Doherty Drive (Next to Hall Middle School) in Larkspur.
Backup electrical system improvements to address reliability issues of generator power at PS14 (Larkspur) and PS24 (650 S. Eliseo near Via Holon) and PS25 (1350 S. Eliseo at Bon Air). Roofing and platform improvements at PS 14. Lot line adjustment at PS14 in cooperation with the Larkspur Corte Madera School District (Hall Middle School).
All RVSD projects and work activities being conducted adhere to the District’s COVID-19 Exposure Control Plan to prepare for and, mitigate against the risk of COVID-19 exposure to the District’s office staff and field workers.
These upgrades to old or outdated system infrastructure will enhance local wastewater system reliability and efficiency.

As with any construction project, you can expect noise, dust, some traffic lane closures and detours, parking restrictions, travel delays, and in some cases night-time work near the work sites during construction activity. We work to ensure that mail and package delivery to construction areas is not interrupted and that local and emergency access is maintained at all times.
RVSD appreciates your patience as we fulfill our commitment to making strategic long-term infrastructure improvements!
